Partial Discharge (PD) Analyst

1. Job Purpose

To perform Partial Discharge (PD) testing, analysis, and diagnostics on MV/LV switchgear, transformers, power cables, motors, and other critical electrical equipment. The role ensures early identification of insulation deterioration to enhance reliability and prevent unexpected failures.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Perform offline/online Partial Discharge tests on:

• Medium & Low Voltage Switchgear

• Power Transformers (Distribution/Power)

• Power Cables (LV/MV) • Motors and Generators

• Bus Ducts / Bus Bars

B. Cable Testing – All Required Tests

C. Motor Testing – All Required Tests

D. Transformer Testing (Basic + PD Focus)

E. Busduct Testing

F. Data Interpretation & Reporting

3. Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• 3–10 years in electrical diagnostics & PD testing.

• Strong understanding of LV/MV equipment construction & failure modes.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical & diagnostic ability.

• Excellent report writing skills.

• Client communication skills.

• Ability to work under shutdown pressure.

• Integrity and strong sense of responsibility

• Attention to detail
