Participating Faculty - Nurse Anesthesia Program

The College of Nursing invites CRNA candidates with an appropriate graduate degree, clinical expertise and strong teaching skills to submit applications for this 12-month position. This position teaches in the Nurse Anesthesia Program with a focus on didactic courses and participates in evaluation and revision of the nurse anesthesia option curriculum. The role reports to the program director.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Teaching and Instruction
  • Teach graduate-level courses within the Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of didactic course content.
  • Provide high-quality, current, evidence-based instruction.
  • Participate in simulation and case-based learning activities that support anesthesia education.
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure course content reflects contemporary anesthesia practice.
Student Support and Mentorship
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for nurse anesthesia students.
  • Participate in student evaluation processes in accordance with program policies.
Program Participation and Quality Improvement
  • Participate in curriculum review and program evaluation activities.
  • Contribute to program initiatives that support accreditation standards and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with student recruitment and informational activities related to the program.
Scholarship and Service
  • Maintain scholarly activity and professional service consistent with faculty rank expectations.
  • Participate in college and university committees and service activities.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the nurse anesthesia profession through scholarship, service, or professional engagement.
Professional Practice
  • Maintain certification/recertification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
  • Maintain RN/APRN licensure
  • Engage in clinical practice consistent with program and university expectations.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Graduate degree in nursing and earned doctorate in nursing from an institution of higher education accredited by a national recognized accrediting agency
  • Current RN and APRN licensure in current state of residence with eligibility for Wisconsin licensure.
  • Full certification or recertification as granted by NBCRNA.
  • Active nurse anesthesia clinical practice
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and service.
