Parts Department Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire Parts Department, ensuring strong operational performance and profitability
  • Oversee inventory control including stocking levels, obsolescence control, returns, and cycle counts
  • Ensure accurate and efficient parts ordering, with emphasis on ordering the correct parts the first time
  • Maintain and improve gross profit performance, including pricing strategy and vendor purchasing decisions
  • Ensure full compliance with manufacturer requirements, processes, and audits
  • Manage Parts staff: hiring, training, coaching, and performance accountability
  • Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring proper coverage and productivity
  • Support strong internal and external customer service (technicians, service advisors, retail/wholesale customers)
  • Monitor and improve KPIs such as: fill rate, order accuracy, inventory turns, return reserve, and gross profit

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Parts Management experience (automotive dealership preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of OEM parts systems and ordering processes
  • Proven ability to drive profitability and manage gross profit performance
  • Strong leadership, scheduling, and accountability skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service mindset
  • Highly organized and process-driven

Compensation & Benefits

  • $6,000 – $10,000 per month, based on department gross profit performance
