Key Responsibilities:
- Product Creation: Create and prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, breads, and other baked goods by following recipes and developing new ones.
- Decoration and Presentation: Decorate finished products using various icings, toppings, and garnishes to ensure visually appealing presentations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock of ingredients, supplies, and equipment, and assist in ordering them as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
- Quality Control: Ensure all baked goods meet high-quality standards and are consistently produced.
- Kitchen Operations: Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work with other chefs, kitchen staff, and management to plan menus, organize events, and ensure timely production and delivery of pastry items.
- Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff on techniques and best practices.
- Customer Service: May meet with clients to discuss and design custom desserts and baked goods for special occasions.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in baking techniques, recipe development, and pastry decoration.
- Creativity and an eye for detail in decorating and product design.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with the team and clients.
- Organizational and time management skills to manage production schedules and inventory.
