Role Summary
The Pastry Chef at voco Hotels will lead pastry kitchen operations, creating exceptional desserts, breads, pastries, and sweet items that reflect the hotel s upscale brand experience. This role demands creativity, precision, leadership, and a passion for delivering memorable culinary moments for guests across multiple outlets and events.
 
What You ll Do
 
* Lead pastry kitchen operations, overseeing production of desserts, breads, and pastries for all hotel outlets
* Develop, test, and refine recipes to ensure quality, innovation, and brand alignment
* Plan and prepare components in advance, ensuring timely and consistent service
* Manage and train pastry team members, assigning tasks and maintaining presentation standards
* Ensure precision in techniques, temperatures, ingredient measurement, and flavor balance
* Collaborate with F and B outlets to meet varied service requirements, including buffets, room service, and events
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
* Contribute to menu planning, seasonal offerings, and special creations for weddings, VIP guests, and themed events
 
Ideal Profile
 
* Proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role within a luxury hotel or upscale environment
* Culinary qualifications in pastry arts, patisserie, or baking
* Strong organizational and creative skills with a meticulous eye for detail
* Leadership abilities with experience in staff training and task delegation
* Technical expertise in pastry science, ingredient behavior, and food presentation
* Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic kitchen environment
