Patent Agent

Trustpoint.One is pleased to be partnering with a national law firm's Charlotte office in their search for an Patent Agent with a minimum of two years' experience and a background in engineering and/or computer science. USPTO registration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, draft and file patent applications.
• Perform research and analysis, and provide guidance on a variety of patent and IP-related issues.
• Conduct database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses
• Analyze patent and scientific papers and documents to assist patent attorneys on patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation
• Draft patent applications and responses to office actions; and advise lawyers on technology issues in preparation for depositions.

Skills

• At least two years of proven working experience as a patent agent, preparing and prosecuting patent applications
• Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
• Extensive computer and database expertise
• A background in mechanical, electrical, biomedical computer science, or a related engineering field is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science is required.

NOTE:

• This is a hybrid position and is required to work in the office in Charlotte, NC three days every week
