Job Description:
The Patient Access Registrar - IR is a Full Time, Regular position working Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm at the Holy Family Outpatient Based Imaging Center.
Summary: Coordinates patient appointments and clinic care in friendly, courteous and professional manner. Answers clinic phone, schedules patients for new and returning visits, and manages provider instructions for patient follow-up. Assists physicians with all back-office duties. Interacts with the providers, other departments within Inland Imaging, patients and family members and outside contacts.
General Description: The Patient Access Registrar – IR or must be able to: work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment in meeting continual deadlines; handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions; be highly organized to meet deadlines. Organizational skills are essential. Interacts with the radiologists, other departments within Inland Imaging, patients and family members and outside contacts. Excellent written, verbal and personal communication skills; be tactful and diplomatic; and be highly confidential is required. Makes decisions regarding daily work priorities and other decisions based on company policies and procedures.

Answers clinic phone, managing patient and referring office calls.
Monitors and manages scheduling queues in EMR
Schedules patients in EMR, notes phone calls and provider instructions.
Coordinates interpreter services, and documents/scans all paperwork to attach to the patient’s chart in AC
Assists in locating and obtaining previous related films for upcoming visits
Calls referring offices to obtain orders not found
Process referrals via fax queue and email communication as well as through EMR
Assists other members of the IRC team as needed which may include:
Assists patients with their needs while they are in the office
Escorts patients to exam rooms to assist medical assistant.
Assists patient in preparing for exam or procedure
Triages patient phone calls, documenting disposition, and/or route to provider or nurse appropriately
Reviews EMR/paper medical records prior to patient encounters to ensure chart is in order and includes all information that will be needed by the provider for the encounter
Obtains outside patient records, films and other reports as needed by the providers
Sends appropriate records when scheduling/referring patients
Calls patients that have no-showed for visits; triages, and routes to scheduling for new appointment.
Returns calls and messages for physicians, as directed by physicians
Ensures provider has all paperwork needed for each exam, including previous reports, H&P's, lab results, and referral slips.
Tracks and follows up on hospital procedures -Schedules patient consultations and follow up exams
Prepares updates and sends out exam packet info
Sends out all consult/exam reports to all physicians on record
Ensures that previous medical records are received and scanned into patients’ chart for scheduled appointments
Other duties and tasks as assigned

Quarterly quality assurance meeting attendance is required for this position.
Attendance is a requirement for this position.
Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed.
