Patient Care Technician

The general purpose of the Patient Care Technician (PCT) position is to optimize patient flow through the clinic while providing an excellent Patient Experience. This position includes front and back office clinic duties. Responsible for performing all the appropriate administrative tasks in accordance with company policy.

Essential Job Functions:

• Greet patients and guests according to company policy.
• Lead first impressions initiative for clinic.
• Oversee patient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Process patient paperwork.
• Assist clinic patients and visitors.
• Answer telephone calls.
• Process messages to and from patients and clinic staff.
• Send and distribute faxes.
• Schedule and Verify patient appointments.
• Collect and post patient payments.
• Process patient referrals, orders, pre-certifications and prior authorizations.
• Responsible for opening and closing clinic front and back office areas.
• Assist with other front office responsibilities as assigned.
• Prepare patients for exam and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs, performing medication reconciliation and updating information
• Make sure exam and treatment rooms have the necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Assist physicians and health care providers in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
• Collect and process patient lab tests, including blood and urine testing, must be proficient in phlebotomy/venipuncture
• Schedule tests and treatments as needed for patients
