The Franciscan Health EMT Paramedic (EMT-P) provides direct patient care in the pre-hospital setting to ensure optimal patient care.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Perform Basic and Advanced Life Support pre-hospital assessment and care.

• Perform tasks in the pre-hospital setting under the control of the Medical Director.

• Provide orderly transfer of patient care to receiving facility staff.

• Assist with the management of the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) program.

• Communicate and act as a liaison between the patient, family physician, and other agencies as required.

• Responsible for assigned ambulance, equipment, and supplies during a shift, as well as security of all equipment and supplies, including but not limited to scheduled and non-scheduled medications.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required Certificate Paramedic

• Required High School Diploma/GED

• 2 years Working as a paramedic Preferred

• 3 years Driving Experience Preferred

• Licensed Paramedic (PARA) - State Licensing Board

• Drivers License - Drivers License

• Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator - Indiana Department of Homeland Security in IN, Illinois Dept of Public Health in IL

• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
