Patient Care Technician - Apprentice - Ears nose throat

The Clinic Apprentice Patient Care Tech works under the supervision of the Practice Manager and under the direction of the provider and/or nurse. The Clinic Apprentice Patient Care Tech provides a wide range of assistive services to promote patient flow, patient information gathering and patient care in the clinic setting.

• All duties are under the guidance and assistance of Clinic Staff.
• Greets and escorts patient to exam room.
• Interviews patient and documents patient’s response in the medical record according to standard.
• Maintains examination room and equipment.
• May assist provider during physical examination, and certain special procedures as instructed.
• Assist with front office duties as requested.
• Performs EKG’s, specimen collection and point of care testing with appropriate training and competencies.
• Other duties as assigned

Education

Work Experience

• Physician's office or healthcare setting - Preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology - Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 days of hire

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-sit locations as needed.
