Patient Companion

Homewatch CareGivers of Norwalk is seeking a warm, friendly, and dependable Companion to join our care team. As a Companion, you will provide meaningful social engagement, emotional support, and non-medical assistance to clients in the comfort of their own homes. Your presence makes a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation, activities, and social engagement.
• Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks, including tidying, laundry, and organizing.
• Accompany clients on errands, appointments, outings, and social activities.
• Prepare and serve light meals and snacks, respecting dietary preferences.
• Assist with correspondence, reading, and recreational activities.
• Monitor and report any changes in the client's mood or condition to the care team.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Warm, patient, and empathetic personality with genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to engage clients in meaningful conversation and activities.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Norwalk/Fairfield County area.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a background check.
• Basic proficiency with mobile devices and communication apps.
• No prior caregiving certification required — experience is a plus.

Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
