Duties

  • Coordinate patient appointments, confirmations, and follow-ups with efficiency and professionalism
  • Gather and verify patient information, including insurance details and medical histories, to ensure accuracy in records
  • Assist with medical billing processes by coding procedures using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems
  • Prepare and manage medical records, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and compliant with privacy regulations
  • Support the medical team by updating Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems with relevant patient data
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies for claims processing and collections to optimize revenue cycle management
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries promptly and guiding them through administrative procedures

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and billing practices
  • Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for managing medical records and documentation
  • Familiarity with medical office operations, including appointment scheduling and patient communication
  • Ability to accurately process medical billing and collections to ensure timely reimbursements
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling medical records and coding tasks
  • Effective communication skills to interact confidently with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards related to medical records privacy and documentation

Pay: $15.50 - $18.50 per hour
