  • Meet and greet patients and attendants in a compassionate and professional manner.
  • Listen to patients’ concerns empathetically and offer appropriate guidance.
  • Explain the diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, risks, and expected outcomes in a simplified manner (as per doctor's advice).
  • Counsel patients for surgeries, procedures, chemotherapy, dialysis, or other specialty treatments.
  • Assist in understanding the care plan, timelines, and what to expect during hospital stay.
  • Ensure informed consent is properly explained and signed.
  • Coordinate with billing/insurance teams to explain estimated treatment costs.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding insurance coverage, pre-authorizations, and package inclusions/exclusions.
  • Guide economically weaker patients towards financial assistance, government schemes, or hospital support (if applicable).
  • Coordinate between patient, consultants, TPA/insurance desk, and administration.
  • Maintain proper counselling records and documentation for each patient interaction.
  • Follow up with departments (labs, pharmacy, diagnostics) for timely updates to the patient.
  • Offer empathetic communication, especially for critically ill patients or during difficult diagnoses (e.g., cancer, organ failure).
  • Coordinate with psychologists/psychiatrists if deeper emotional support is needed.
  • Help patients understand discharge process, medication instructions, diet plans, and follow-up appointments.
  • Educate the patient/family about post-discharge care and emergency contact points.
