Schedule: Full-Time, Days - 8am to 5pm (no weekends)
The Patient Education Clinical Specialist will work on-site for the Patient Education Department focusing on enhancing health literacy by providing patients and families with the knowledge and tools needed to manage their health and to improve outcomes.

What We're Looking For:
- Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required.

Experience: Minimum of three years as a registered nurse in an inpatient or outpatient setting, required. Experience with program management and electronic health record documentation, preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current RN License, required. Certification in area of specialty (may obtain within 9 months of hire)-

Additional Skills (required): Knowledge in current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods and models; effective classroom presentation style; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; understanding of customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; knowledge of research and EBP methodologies and analyses; strong writing skills and critical thinking skills.

What You'll Do:
Responsibilities include:

The design, coordination and review of corporate, facility and service line specific patient information including manual and electronic forms.
- Additional responsibilities include file repository and project management, inventory control, end product evaluation, collection and evaluation of literature and data to design and support patient education program management.
- Must have a strong understanding of nursing clinical practice and work flow, familiarity with nursing care plan process to identify and select appropriate patient education resources as related to clinical diagnosis, medications, and treatments.
- Familiarity with nursing documentation within an electronic health record preferred.
