We are currently hiring across multiple Henry Ford Health hospitals and care sites, offering opportunities in both Emergency Department and outpatient settings.


Position Overview

As a Patient Registration Representative, you will play a vital role in supporting patients, families, and visitors throughout their healthcare journey. Following standard operating procedures, you will:

  • Greet and assist patients with a welcoming, service-focused approach
  • Manage face-to-face check-ins and pre-registration processes
  • Verify insurance eligibility and collect applicable payments
  • Accurately complete new patient registrations and update records
  • Respond to patient and visitor questions with professionalism and compassion


You will serve as a trusted advocate for patients—ensuring their needs are met while delivering an efficient, seamless, and positive experience from arrival to departure.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Experience in patient registration, medical office, or customer-facing roles preferred
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care

Education/Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.

  • One (1) year of experience related to patient admitting, registration and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting preferred.

  • EPIC training/experience preferred.

  • Insurance payor systems experience preferred.

  • ICD-10 medical terminology experience preferred.

  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person and in writing with patients, visitors and clinical/non-clinical staff.

  • Must be willing and able to instruct others.

  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
