Summary:

NIBD is seeking a dedicated Patient Relationship Officer to assist patients and their families in understanding and managing their healthcare procedures. The ideal candidate will guide patients through financial assistance programs, and payment options to ensure seamless billing and reduce financial stress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educate patients on their financial responsibilities.
  • Assist patients in applying for financial assistance programs and verifying eligibility for government or hospital-based aid.
  • Work closely with the billing and collections department to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Explain cost estimates for treatments, procedures, and hospital stays.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, and hospital billing departments.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for compliance and auditing purposes.
  • Provide compassionate financial counseling to patients experiencing hardship.
  • Stay updated on healthcare regulations, and financial assistance programs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in healthcare financial counseling, medical billing, is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing and hospital financial aid programs.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and hospital billing software.
