The Patient Service Representative is responsible for providing professional customer service to ensure operational efficiency and promote a positive patient experience. Responsible for Patient Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Registration, Insurance Verification, and ensures patients have been cleared for HomeCare visits.
The Patient Service Representative performs a variety of secretarial, billing and clerical duties to include: utilizing the electronic medical record (EMR) to schedule follow up and specialty appointments and process patient charges, coordinating referrals, preparing the proper paperwork and collecting pertinent patient information, answering phones, performing other related duties as assigned. Provides administrative support to the office staff.

• Provides support to the Front Desk/Reception area and provides general administrative support:
  o Greet all patients and visitors
  o Answer incoming phone calls in a professional manner, and triage the call if appropriate to ensure the patients’ needs are met in a timely manner.
  o Create and distribute electronic messages in the EMR.
  o Mail information to new patients prior to visit in accordance with department policies.
  o Assist with general office duties such as photocopying, scanning information into a patient’s EMR, distributing reports, sorting mail, faxes, delivering materials, etc.
  o Provides back-up support to other front desk staff as needed
• Responsible for mail processes, postage equipment, and office equipment.
• Maintains inventory processes including ordering and receiving according to appropriate levels set by Agency guidelines.
• Coordinates and clarifies data with care management team in regards to medical supplies.
• Identifies, researches, and resolves order discrepancies
• Effectively organizes and maintains documentation for inventory control purposes and budgetary need pertaining to medical & office supplies/forms.
• Covers for other departments as necessary.
• Exhibits strong customer service skills through positive, helpful interactions, and communication
• Will actively participate in the performance improvement process known as H3W.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: Experience in a Customer Service role
