Under general supervision of Central Transport Manager transports patients and patient related materials throughout the hospital campus. Works primarily in outpatient clinical areas, such as the Fain Health Center (FHC). All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the patients. Healthcare environment such as acute care hospitals, physicians’ offices and ancillary healthcare enterprises. Works with transport equipment and has direct patient contact; takes standard precautions and proper PPE as directed by Nursing personnel when transporting barrier patients. Uniforms provided must be worn. Any potential hazards are minimized or nullified by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions including use safety equipment and protective clothing.
