What You Can Expect:

The Patient Transporter, under general supervision, is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients, supplies, and equipment throughout the facilities.
Transports patients to and from inpatient units, surgery, therapy, radiology and other areas.- Will have direct patient contact including, but not limited to, assisting patients into/out of bed, transporting equipment, use of assistive devices, and more to meet the patient needs and clinical efforts to enhance the patient experience.
- Retrieves medical records, laboratory specimens, supplies and medications as required.
- Maintains and cleans transport equipment.
- Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements for protection against exposure to blood, body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation and hazardous substances.
- Adheres to all health and safety requirements in order to meet regulatory and company standards.
- Transport ambulatory patients and equipment in vehicles.
- Acts as a valet for incoming patients/visitors, as needed.
- Resolves routine questions, issues and problems; refers more complex issues to higher levels.
- May assist with dispatch coverage as needed.
- May participate in interview, training and onboarding process. May partipicate in performance improvement initiatives as needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: None
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License
This role is subject to St. Luke's driving policy, which requires individuals in this role to not have a record of certain driving-related offenses within the past three (3) years, including but not limited to: Suspension of License, Driving Under the Influence, Reckless or Negligent Driving...
If hired, St. Luke's will conduct a driving records check upon hire and continuously thereafter for individuals hired into this role. Individuals will be required to maintain a valid, current driver's license.
