Role Overview

The Paving Foreman at North Coast Paving leads and directs milling crews, ensuring projects run safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role relies on strong leadership and extensive hands-on experience with milling operations to coordinate crews, manage equipment, and maintain high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Crew Leadership: Direct and supervise the daily activities of the milling crew, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality workmanship.
  • Equipment Oversight: Operate and coordinate milling machines, skid steers, brooms, and trucks to achieve production goals.
  • Project Coordination: Work with project managers and estimators to understand job scopes, schedules, and specifications.
  • Safety Management: Enforce company and OSHA safety standards on every jobsite; conduct daily safety briefings.
  • Quality Control: Monitor milling depth, transitions, and cleanup to ensure a high-quality base for paving operations.
  • Communication: Serve as the on-site point of contact for superintendents, inspectors, and customers when necessary.
  • Logistics: Plan crew needs, materials, trucking, and equipment mobilization for upcoming jobs.
  • Documentation: Track daily production, crew hours, equipment usage, and any jobsite issues.
  • Maintenance: Assist in the care, minor maintenance, and inspection of milling equipment to prevent downtime.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in asphalt milling, paving, or related construction work.
  • Previous leadership or foreman experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of milling operations, grades, and project layout.
  • Knowledge of traffic control, jobsite safety, and DOT regulations.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, and job specifications.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and travel locally between job sites.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Overtime Eligible: Yes.
  • Bonuses: Project or seasonal performance bonuses available.

Tools & Allowances: Company truck or vehicle allowance, phone, and uniforms/PPE provided.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
