This position plays a key role in securing profitable work, managing bid strategies, and ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with company goals.Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating &amp; Bidding<ul><li>Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for public and private paving projects.</li><li>Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements.</li><li>Perform detailed takeoffs for asphalt, aggregates, milling, and related items.</li><li>Solicit and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.</li><li>Develop and maintain accurate cost databases and production rate benchmarks.</li><li>Prepare bid summaries and proposals.</li><li>Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid openings as needed.</li></ul>Project &amp; Client Coordination<ul><li>Work with management team to transition awarded projects from bid to build.</li><li>Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and municipal representatives.</li><li>Provide input on project schedules, budgets, and constructability.</li><li>Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.</li></ul>Leadership &amp; Mentorship<ul><li>Provide guidance and training to junior estimators and office staff involved in estimating support.</li><li>Help standardize estimating procedures, templates, and cost tracking systems.</li><li>Participate in strategic pricing and market analysis to improve bid success rate.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of estimating experience in asphalt paving</li><li>Strong knowledge of paving materials, methods, and equipment.</li><li>Proficient with estimating software (HCSS, B2W, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and bid documents.</li><li>Strong math, organizational, and communication skills.</li><li>Proven track record of accurately estimating and winning competitive bids.</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits<ul><li>Competitive salary with experience</li><li>Bonus opportunities tied to project performance and profitability.</li><li>Health insurance, paid time off, and 401(k) plan.</li><li>Company vehicle or allowance (based on experience).</li><li>Professional development and advancement opportunities.</li></ul>Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person

This role relies on strong leadership and extensive hands-on experience with milling operations to coordinate crews, manage equipment, and maintain high-quality results.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Crew Leadership: Direct and supervise the daily activities of the milling crew, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality workmanship.</li><li>Equipment Oversight: Operate and coordinate milling machines, skid steers, brooms, and trucks to achieve production goals.</li><li>Project Coordination: Work with project managers and estimators to understand job scopes, schedules, and specifications.</li><li>Safety Management: Enforce company and OSHA safety standards on every jobsite; conduct daily safety briefings.</li><li>Quality Control: Monitor milling depth, transitions, and cleanup to ensure a high-quality base for paving operations.</li><li>Communication: Serve as the on-site point of contact for superintendents, inspectors, and customers when necessary.</li><li>Logistics: Plan crew needs, materials, trucking, and equipment mobilization for upcoming jobs.</li><li>Documentation: Track daily production, crew hours, equipment usage, and any jobsite issues.</li><li>Maintenance: Assist in the care, minor maintenance, and inspection of milling equipment to prevent downtime.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>3&ndash;5 years of experience in asphalt milling, paving, or related construction work.</li><li>Previous leadership or foreman experience preferred.</li><li>Strong understanding of milling operations, grades, and project layout.</li><li>Knowledge of traffic control, jobsite safety, and DOT regulations.</li><li>Ability to read blueprints, plans, and job specifications.</li><li>Strong communication and team leadership skills.</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license (CDL preferred).</li><li>Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and travel locally between job sites.</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits <ul><li>Overtime Eligible: Yes.</li><li>Bonuses: Project or seasonal performance bonuses available.</li><li>Benefits: Health insurance, 401k with company match, PTO, paid holidays.</li></ul>Tools &amp; Allowances: Company truck or vehicle allowance, phone, and uniforms/PPE provided.Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
