Payroll Administrator

<Responsibilities>

  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently using advanced payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and company policies
  • Maintain and update employee records within HRIS systems, including data entry, benefit enrollments, and tax information
  • Reconcile payroll accounts regularly through general ledger accounting and account reconciliation procedures to ensure data integrity
  • Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll transactions, including debits & credits, for proper financial reporting
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams on benefits administration, including leave management, retirement plans, and health insurance enrollment
  • Ensure compliance with governmental regulations by managing tax filings, reporting requirements, and non-profit accounting standards when applicable
  • Assist with audits by providing detailed reports on payroll activities, accounts payable/receivable, and other financial data analysis skills

<Qualifications>

  • Proven experience managing payroll using systems such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft; familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus
  • Strong understanding of payroll management principles combined with knowledge of accounting software and financial concepts
  • Skilled in data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing) and double entry bookkeeping techniques
  • Knowledge of human resources processes including benefits administration and HRIS systems
  • Experience in governmental or non-profit accounting environments is advantageous
  • Ability to perform account reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and analyze financial data effectively
  • Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll processing and reporting requirements
