Remote Healthcare Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist

Are you an experienced Payroll and Accounts Payable professional looking for a fully remote role in healthcare? Join our growing network of home health and hospice agencies and help ensure our staff and vendors are paid accurately and on time—so patients receive the care they deserve.

Hourly Rate: $25–$32/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST) Must be available to work in this time zone.


Location Note:
While this is a remote position, we are currently unable to hire residents of Maine, New York, Vermont, Maryland, Delaware, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, or Hawaii due to employer registration and compliance limitations.

What You’ll Do

  • Process biweekly payroll for multiple home health and hospice agencies using Workday, ensuring accurate timecards, deductions, and earnings.
  • Manage hourly, salaried, and per-visit pay models, including mileage reimbursement and performance-based bonuses.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to resolve payroll discrepancies and maintain accurate records for audits.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Handle accounts payable, including uploading invoices into Tipalti, maintaining vendor records, completing Room & Board spreadsheets, coordinating with the Pennant Service Center, and assisting with audits.
  • Ensure compliance and confidentiality across all payroll and AP functions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of payroll and/or AP experience, in home health and hospice and multi-entity environments.
  • Proficiency in Workday, HCHB, and Tipalti experience preferred.
  • Strong Excel and data management skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of payroll laws and accounting principles.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and collaborative, with excellent communication skills.
