Responsibilities
- Process payroll using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, or Kronos, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform data entry tasks related to employee hours, wages, deductions, and benefits in payroll and accounting software like QuickBooks or Ceridian.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for general ledger accounting, maintaining precise records of debits and credits.
- Manage benefits administration including enrollment, changes, and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Conduct account reconciliation and review payroll reports to identify discrepancies or errors for prompt resolution.
- Support HRIS systems integration and updates to ensure seamless payroll processing and employee data management.
- Assist with non-profit or governmental accounting procedures as needed, including accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information while adhering to data security standards.
- Collaborate with human resources and finance teams on payroll-related inquiries and audits.
Experience
- Proven experience working with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, or Ceridian.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, and financial analysis skills.
- Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms used for bookkeeping and financial tracking.
- Understanding of tax regulations related to payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes within a corporate or non-profit setting.
- Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately with 10 key typing skills.
- Knowledge of human resources systems (HRIS) and experience in benefits administration is highly desirable.
