We're looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused Payroll Coordinator who thrives on accuracy, organization, and helping others. If you enjoy solving problems, maintaining compliance, and being part of a collaborative Human Resources team, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As our Payroll Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting payroll compliance and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, wage changes, and tax information
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee questions
  • Process final paychecks and vacation payouts in accordance with California law
  • Review monthly employee benefit invoices for accuracy
  • Assist with payroll audits and year-end reporting
  • Update payroll procedures and communicate payroll deadlines
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Cross-train with finance functions and assist with special projects
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working with numbers and deadlines
  • A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • Able to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Collaborative and willing to jump in wherever needed
  • Passionate about accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6–12 months of payroll or related administrative experience (more experience welcomed)
  • Experience with payroll software (Paycom experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Understanding of payroll laws, tax reporting, and employee recordkeeping
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required

Additional Requirements

  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to successfully complete DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance, CACI clearance, TB screening, physical, and other pre-employment requirements
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain if required)
