Job Overview

Reliable Forklift Sales is seeking an experienced and strategic Payroll Director to lead our payroll operations. This is a full-time position based in our Arizona City, Arizona office. As a leading distributor of machinery and equipment, Reliable Forklift Sales specialises in the sales, rentals, and service of forklifts and material handling products. We serve a variety of industries across North America, providing solutions for businesses that require reliable lifting and moving equipment, and we are renowned for our exceptional customer support.

The Payroll Director will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the company's payroll function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for our employees across multiple locations. This role is critical in maintaining the financial well-being of our staff and ensuring the company adheres to all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all employees across our North American operations.
* Ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other deductions.
* Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure robust internal controls.
* Guarantee compliance with all US federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations.
* Oversee the preparation and submission of all payroll-related reports, tax filings, and year-end statements.
* Manage, mentor, and develop the payroll team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Act as the primary point of contact for complex payroll queries and escalations, providing expert guidance and resolution.
* Collaborate closely with the HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless data integration and alignment on compensation and benefits administration.
* Lead projects related to payroll system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements.

Qualifications
* Extensive proven experience as a Payroll Director or in a similar senior payroll management capacity.
* In-depth, expert knowledge of US payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
* Demonstrable experience managing complex, multi-state payroll for a large organisation.
* Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
* Exceptional numerical and analytical skills, combined with meticulous attention to detail.
* High proficiency in using modern payroll software and HRIS systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
* Professional certification (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional - CPP) is considered a significant asset.
