We are seeking a dependable Payroll & HR Assistant to join our team in Wilmington. This role focuses on processing payroll, handling routine HR administrative functions, and providing support with basic bookkeeping. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll, including timecard collection, data entry, and pay statement distribution
  • Maintain employee files: onboarding, terminations, status updates, and compliance paperwork
  • Assist with benefits enrollments and updates
  • Prepare basic HR reports and support compliance audits
  • Provide bookkeeping support: vendor invoices, cash receipts, and reconciliations
  • Support monthly close with data entry and schedule preparation
  • Assist supervisors and employees with payroll and HR-related questions

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in payroll, HR administration, or bookkeeping
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow through on tasks

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with construction payroll or multi-entity payroll processing
  • Familiarity with FOUNDATION accounting software

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
