Payroll & HR Generalist

Role Type: Full Time – Onsite

Role Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and versatile Payroll Accountant & HR Generalist to oversee payroll operations and support core human resources functions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with third-party payroll processors (Paycor preferred), strong accounting skills, and a solid background in HR processes, compliance, and employee relations. This role bridges finance and HR by ensuring accurate payroll, compliance, and effective people management practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and review payroll using a third-party provider (Paycor preferred).
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits, leave, and HR compliance programs.
  • Support HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Set up and maintain HRIS systems, including form creation and workflow automation.
  • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve payroll and HR policies, procedures, and reporting.
  • Act as a resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 3+ years of payroll and accounting experience, with exposure to HR generalist duties.
  • Proficiency with Paycor or similar third-party payroll/HR systems.
  • Experience implementing or managing HRIS platforms.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, payroll compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
