Job Summary

Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, and QuickBooks
- Ensure accurate data entry for employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information in compliance with company policies and legal standards
- Reconcile payroll accounts regularly through general ledger accounting practices including journal entries, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping
- Oversee benefits administration related to payroll, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing reports and ensuring timely filings
- Collaborate with Human Resources for onboarding, terminations, and updates affecting payroll data
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and implement corrective actions promptly
- Support governmental accounting requirements related to non-profit or public sector organizations when applicable
- Utilize technical accounting knowledge to manage accounts payable/receivable processes associated with payroll expenses
- Generate detailed reports on payroll costs, tax liabilities, and financial trends for management review
Skills
- Proficiency in payroll management software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including general ledger accounting, debits & credits, journal entries and account reconciliation
- Experience with HRIS systems for benefits administration and employee data management
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll processing across different jurisdictions
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software for bookkeeping purposes
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing) and attention to detail
- Analytical mindset capable of performing financial analysis and resolving discrepancies efficiently
- Ability to handle complex calculations involving non-profit or governmental accounting standards when necessary
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks such as accounts payable/receivable and benefits administration
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments including human resources and finance teams
