Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll processing within our organization. Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data entry, calculations, and disbursements using payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro.
- Ensure accurate processing of employee wages, benefits administration, tax deductions, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Reconcile payroll accounts regularly through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries and account reconciliation.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to maintain up-to-date employee records within HRIS systems and ensure seamless integration with accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft.
- Manage payroll-related reporting for internal audits, governmental agencies, and external auditors while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Lead efforts in benefits administration related to payroll deductions and non-profit or governmental accounting standards when applicable.
- Monitor changes in tax laws or regulations that impact payroll processing; implement necessary updates to maintain compliance.
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions related to payroll expenses; assist with month-end closing activities involving the general ledger.
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors; implement corrective actions promptly.
- Maintain detailed documentation of payroll procedures and ensure adherence to double entry bookkeeping principles and technical accounting standards.
Experience
- Proven experience managing payroll operations within a fast-paced environment using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or Ceridian.
- Strong knowledge of payroll management practices combined with a solid understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- Familiarity with various accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex data entry tasks accurately using 10 key typing skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working with human resources systems (HRIS) for benefits administration and employee record management.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Excellent analysis skills for financial data interpretation coupled with strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities effectively.

Pay: $66,239.54 - $79,772.35 per year
