ABOUT GH LOGISTICS
GH Logistics is an asset-backed trucking and logistics company operating across multiple markets. We run brokerage and asset operations simultaneously with a diverse workforce including drivers, operations staff, and administrative employees across multiple pay structures and entities. We are growing and our payroll function needs a leader, not an executor.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
Our payroll operation has outgrown its current structure. We don't need someone who can process payroll — we need someone who can own, manage, and scale the entire payroll function as the company grows. You will be the single point of authority for everything payroll at GH Logistics. You will build the processes, enforce the standards, manage the team as it grows beneath you, and report directly to the VP of Operations with executive-level visibility every week.
This is a management role. You are not assisting. You are running it.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Full ownership of weekly W2 payroll for drivers across multiple pay rates, overtime structures, and per diem deductions
-
Full ownership of biweekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees across operations and administrative staff
-
Managing all garnishments, tax filings, and multi-state payroll compliance — federal, state, and local
-
Building and maintaining payroll SOPs, audit procedures, and reporting frameworks that scale with the company
-
Producing structured payroll reports and cost analysis for executive leadership each cycle
-
Auditing payroll data for errors, inconsistencies, and compliance gaps before every submission — zero tolerance for preventable mistakes
-
Serving as the escalation point for driver and employee payroll inquiries — you resolve it, you don't pass it along
-
Training and overseeing future payroll staff as the department grows
-
Maintaining accurate records across all employee classifications and entities
-
Staying ahead of regulatory changes and ensuring GH Logistics remains compliant across every jurisdiction we operate in
-
Identifying and implementing process improvements within Paycom to increase accuracy, reduce cycle time, and improve reporting
