Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations with precision and enthusiasm. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees across various departments. Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting and account reconciliation procedures, maintaining compliance with financial concepts and bookkeeping standards.
- Oversee data entry of employee information, hours worked, benefits enrollment, and tax data within various HRIS systems.
- Administer benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks while ensuring proper deductions and contributions.
- Collaborate with human resources to process new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and leave management efficiently.
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors; perform journal entries for corrections as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and audit documentation in accordance with governmental accounting standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing payroll functions using software such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft; familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus.
- Strong understanding of payroll management principles combined with knowledge of accounting software and financial software tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in tax experience, benefits administration, accounts payable/receivable, and non-profit or governmental accounting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in data entry tasks including 10 key typing skills and double entry bookkeeping to ensure precise recordkeeping.
- Solid analysis skills for account reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits, journal entries, and technical accounting practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems such as UltiPro or ADP along with familiarity in human resources processes is preferred.
