Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Managing the entire payroll cycle, from data input to disbursement, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records, including salary information, deductions, and tax details.
- Compliance: Ensuring all payroll activities adhere to relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including tax and benefits administration.
- Tax Management: Calculating and processing payroll taxes, preparing and filing tax returns, and managing any tax-related documentation.
- Benefits Administration: Managing employee benefits deductions and ensuring accurate processing of benefit enrollments and changes.
- Issue Resolution: Addressing and resolving employee payroll discrepancies, inquiries, and concerns promptly and efficiently.
- Reporting: Generating and analyzing payroll reports for management and other stakeholders, providing insights into payroll costs and trends.
- Collaboration: Working with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient payroll operations.
- System Maintenance: Utilizing and maintaining payroll software and systems, and potentially assisting with system upgrades or implementations.
- Auditing: Conducting regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
Skills Required:
- Payroll Knowledge: In-depth understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and relevant legislation.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and solve problems.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in handling sensitive employee information and ensuring accuracy in all payroll transactions.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with employees, management, and other stakeholders regarding payroll matters.
- Confidentiality: Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding employee payroll information and adhering to data privacy regulations.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, ensuring timely payroll processing.
- Proficiency in Payroll Software: Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or similar systems.
