Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during pediatric dental procedures, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for young patients.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, restorations, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use in accordance with infection control protocols
- Take and process dental X-rays using digital imaging technology as well as Phosophor storage plates
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, dental procedures, and post-treatment care to promote good dental health habits
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting with front desk duties as a dental receptionist when needed
Qualifications
- Experience in dental assisting is a bonus
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures specific to pediatric dentistry
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups to optimize patient care and workflow
- Skilled in taking X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technologies, while maintaining safety standards for children
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical records management related to pediatrics
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with young patients, parents, and team members
- Certification in CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) is preferred but not required; ongoing training will be provided for the right candidate

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
