Pediatric Dental Assistant

Maritime Pediatric Dentistry is growing, and we’re looking for a caring, motivated Dental Assistant who loves working with children and families. Our team is known for creating a positive, calm, and welcoming environment where little ones feel comfortable and parents feel confident in the care their children receive.

About Our Practice
At Maritime Pediatric Dentistry, we combine high-quality pediatric dental care with compassion and education. Every visit is designed to be friendly, efficient, and child-centered. Our team works together to ensure that each patient’s experience—from check-in to checkout—is smooth, safe, and positive.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare for Appointments: Set up rooms and materials, review medical histories, and anticipate the needs of the dentist and patient.
  • Assist Chairside: Support the doctor during all procedures, including exams, cleanings, sealants, x-rays, crowns, space maintainers, and restorative treatments.
  • Ensure Comfort: Help children feel at ease through clear communication and gentle guidance; keep parents informed throughout the visit.
  • Maintain Safety & Cleanliness: Sterilize instruments, disinfect operatories, and follow all OSHA and infection-control protocols.
  • Support the Team: Escort patients to and from the front, assist with scheduling flow, and help maintain an organized, efficient work environment.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree or certificate in dental assisting (radiography certification preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Experience in pediatric dentistry or a strong interest in working with children
  • Dependability, professionalism, and a calm demeanor under pressure

  • Prepare Doctor and Patient for Treatment: Set up rooms, instruments, and materials to ensure efficient appointments.
  • Assist During Procedures: Anticipate needs, provide support, and help keep each visit running smoothly.
  • Maintain Safety and Cleanliness: Uphold strict sterilization standards and infection control.
  • Deliver an Exceptional Patient Experience: Make every visit welcoming and stress-free for both children and parents.
