Dental Assistant

Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when needed, adhering strictly to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and records management. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology confidently and supporting procedures with precision. Monitor vital signs and assist with patient comfort measures, especially for pediatric patients or those requiring special care. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment while following HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with dental assisting duties involving medical imaging and medical coding. Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, along with familiarity with Epic or similar platforms for medical documentation. Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy, dental terminology, and medical terminology. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately and safely; certification in radiography is a plus. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk support are advantageous for managing patient interactions effectively. Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles to provide compassionate care for young patients.
