Duties
- Deliver comprehensive instruction in pediatric gastroenterology, including lectures, seminars, and hands-on clinical training for medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Supervise clinical rotations and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care within pediatric gastroenterology clinics.
- Lead or participate in clinical research projects, including designing studies, managing data collection, reviewing documentation, and publishing findings related to pediatric gastrointestinal health.
- Develop and update curriculum materials utilizing learning technology platforms such as Blackboard or LMS (Learning Management System) to enhance educational delivery.
- Conduct clinical trials focused on pediatric gastrointestinal disorders to advance evidence-based practices and improve treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing staff, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care strategies.
- Review medical documentation thoroughly to ensure accuracy in patient records, research data, and educational materials.
- Engage in community outreach initiatives promoting public health awareness related to pediatrics and gastrointestinal health.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with specialized training in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
- Proven experience in higher education teaching, including classroom experience with adult learners and veterinary terminology knowledge if applicable.
- Supervising experience in clinical settings or academic environments is highly preferred.
- Strong foundation in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and laboratory experience relevant to pediatrics.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms such as Blackboard or LMS for curriculum development and online instruction.
- Demonstrated involvement in clinical research or clinical trials within pediatric gastroenterology or related fields.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working with students, residents, or healthcare teams to foster an engaging learning environment.
- Critical care experience within pediatric or adult acute care settings is advantageous.
- Knowledge of public health principles as they relate to pediatrics and gastrointestinal health is desirable.
