Pediatric Medical Assistant

Duties

  • Perform patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting current health concerns with accuracy and sensitivity.
  • Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate to assist clinicians in assessing patient status.
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes clearly and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
  • Assist healthcare providers during various medical procedures including injections, medication administration and basic treatments.
  • Support clinical documentation through accurate use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tasks such as specimen collection or processing when needed.
  • Manage medical supplies and equipment inventory to ensure readiness.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and coordinating follow-up care instructions with families.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential or equivalent certification preferred; relevant experience highly valued.
  • Prior clinic experience in pediatric settings is strongly preferred;
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation and order entry; ability to navigate information systems efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care to children of all ages and their families.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
