Description: The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Connecticut Children’s is seeking a full-time pediatric neurosurgeon with a strong academic interest to join our program in Hartford, Connecticut. We welcome both experienced pediatric neurosurgeons and recent pediatric neurosurgery fellowship graduates. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team within one of New England’s leading pediatric healthcare systems.
The successful candidate will be offered an academic appointment as affiliated faculty in the University of Connecticut Department of Neurosurgery, with rank commensurate with experience. Our current team consists of three fellowship-trained pediatric neurosurgeons supported by three advanced practice providers, who deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. Our state-of-the-art facility includes a Level 1 pediatric trauma center, a Level 4 epilepsy program, a Level 4 NICU and fetal surgery program (both housed in the new hospital tower opening in December 2025), and a hybrid operating room.
Practice description: Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group (CCSG) is the physician-led, faculty practice organization of Connecticut Children’s, comprising more than 300 pediatric specialists across over 30 subspecialties. CCSG is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting academic excellence, innovation, and professional growth. As a fully integrated multispecialty group, CCSG provides a collaborative clinical environment, robust administrative and operational support, and a strong infrastructure for quality improvement, clinical research, and program development. Faculty within CCSG benefit from a unified system that values teamwork, physician leadership, and the advancement of pediatric care across the region.
Hospital description: Connecticut Children’s is a pediatric healthcare system spanning Connecticut, Eastern New York and Western Massachusetts. Our flagship hospital - Connecticut Children’s Golisano Medical Center - is a 205-bed not-for-profit facility. We are the only free-standing pediatric hospital in the state of Connecticut. Connecticut Children’s serves as the primary pediatric teaching hospital for the UConn School of Medicine, has a teaching partnership with the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, and is the pediatric training site for the UConn Neurosurgery Residency Program.
The Connecticut Children’s Research Institute (CCRI) serves as the academic and scientific engine of the health system, dedicated to advancing pediatric discovery, innovation, and outcomes. CCRI supports a broad research portfolio spanning basic, translational, clinical, and population health sciences, with growing strengths in genomics, cancer biology, neurosciences, fetal and neonatal health, and health services research. Investigators benefit from dedicated research infrastructure—including biostatistics, grants management, clinical trials support, and access to cutting-edge collaborations through our partnership with The Jackson Laboratory.
