- Deliver direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs and condition, reporting any changes promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely.
- Assist doctors during rounds and in implementing medical plans.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care, as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using appropriate hospital systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Promote patient safety and uphold infection control protocols.
- Support patients with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and emotional needs.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, nursing students, or healthcare assistants.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts.
- Contribute to discharge planning and patient education.
- Maintain patient dignity, confidentiality, and rights at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, age-appropriate nursing care tailored to the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of pediatric patients.
- Monitor and record patients’ conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments.
- Administer medications and therapies safely, following pediatric dosing guidelines.
- Assist with diagnostic tests, procedures, and minor interventions.
- Provide emotional support to children and their families, reducing anxiety and fear.
- Educate families on care plans, diagnoses, medications, and home care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using hospital systems.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Recognize and respond to signs of distress or deterioration in children quickly.
- Promote play therapy and child-friendly care to aid in recovery and reduce trauma.
- Maintain infection control practices and safety standards in all care activities.
- Participate in family-centered care and advocate for child health and well-being.
- Support discharge planning and coordinate follow-up care where needed.
