People Business Partner

GHD has an immediate opportunity for a People Business Partner (PBP) working with our West region. The People Business Partner is responsible for aligning HR strategies to the business objectives for their region. The position serves as the strategic partner to Business Group Leaders, and a first point of contact and resource to employees on human resource-related issues. Collaborating with the Centers of Excellence (COE), the People Business Partner seeks to proactively develop integrated people solutions for the region. The PBP is a strategic partner with their business counterparts, providing not only operational support, but also thought leadership on strategic HR programs and initiatives to improve business performance. This position may be based any location with a GHD office in Mountain or Pacific time. GHD supports a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Performance and Talent Management:

» Drive the region’s people processes (performance, development, and career) to current and future standards and assist in the coordination of the annual Performance Review process including scheduling, training sessions, reporting.

» Identify region's talent pool strengths and needs and coordinate programs to leverage strengths and development needs in partnership with the Talent Management COE.

» Coordinate with all parties to ensure a smooth process for new starters throughout the onboarding program and implement employee engagement programs to continually improve employee engagement and retention.

Strategic Partnership

» Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned region's business strategy and organizational plans and assist the region with analysis and diagnosis of client needs in achieving their goals by identifying People resources and organizational issues.

» Build and manage close and constructive relationship to leadership an employee resource groups.

» Act as a change agent, challenging the status quo, and develop best practices solutions to address talent challenges before they impact the business.

Learning and Development

» Support and encourage a leadership and coaching culture through coaching the region's business leaders on issues of effective team building and organizational effectiveness.

» Provide leadership by demonstrating understanding of business trends and needs by implementing initiatives to build a high-performing organization aligned with the strategic leadership initiatives.

» Analyzes talent data to provide insight to the region for training and learning/development priorities

» Facilitation of programs and training delivery as appropriate

Legal and Policy Compliance

» Ensures region people processes are consistent with company policy and local legal requirements

» Assists with workplace investigations as required.

» Region expert on GHD People Policies.

» Champions Diversity & Inclusion

» Collaborates with Health and Safety Leader to ensure zero harm to our people

Required skills and experience:

» Minimum six (6) years professional experience.

» Undergraduate degree in relevant field. Background in providing People Management advice and services at both the strategic and operational level.

» Current or previous experience working in consulting engineering, environmental engineering, or professional services preferred.

» Functional depth of experience in recruitment, organizational development, and employee relations preferred.

»Strong understanding of software programs such as Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must be forward thinking and not hesitate to be hands-on with the use of technical solutions.

»Proactive in fully understanding business needs and offering new solutions to internal clients.

» Proven ability to establish excellent work and coaching relationships.

The salary range for this position is $92,575-$154,244 depending on experience and location.
