People Operations Generalist (HR + Payroll) (In-Person)

Position: People Operations Generalist (HR + Payroll)
Type: In-Person (Full-Time preferred; Part-Time considered)
Location: 10918 Granite Street, Charlotte, NC 28273
Compensation: Up to $62,000/year (or hourly equivalent if part-time), based on experience
Schedule (if full-time): Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)

Role Overview

This is our first dedicated People Operations/HR hire. You’ll own day-to-day HR operations with a strong emphasis on timekeeping and payroll execution, onboarding/offboarding, documentation, and building scalable processes. This role is best for someone who likes structure, accuracy, and creating “how we do things” in a growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Timekeeping & payroll operations: fix timecards and punch issues, ensure accurate hours, run payroll processes, and maintain deadlines (primarily through ADP or similar)
  • HR administration: onboarding/offboarding, employee records, and maintaining clean documentation throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Policies & handbook: help maintain, document, and improve the employee handbook and core policies
  • Benefits administration: support existing health benefits (eligibility after 90 days) and help evaluate/coordinate future benefits (e.g., 401k)
  • SOP documentation: document and organize SOPs for people-related workflows (and support broader SOP organization where appropriate)
  • Ninety (EOS platform) stewardship: help maintain org chart hygiene, seat/accountability documentation, and core value visibility to support EOS discipline
  • Support leadership with employee relations needs and offboarding/termination documentation as needed

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of HR/People Operations experience OR an HR-related degree (completed or in progress)
  • Comfortable handling timekeeping and payroll processes with high accuracy and urgency
  • Strong organization, documentation, and written communication skills (policies, SOPs, onboarding checklists)
  • High integrity and discretion with sensitive information
  • Self-starter mindset: you can take a messy process and build a clean, repeatable one
  • Must be able to work in-person at our Charlotte facility

Nice-to-Haves (Not Required)

  • Familiarity with ADP (or similar HRIS/payroll tools)
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Comfort improving systems and processes across a growing tech stack
