Per Diem Litigation Attorney – Personal Injury & Employment Defense

We are seeking an experienced and courtroom-ready Per Diem Litigation Attorney to handle appearances and other litigation tasks for our personal injury and employment defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident freelance attorney or solo practitioner to manage substantive legal work, including court hearings and depositions, on a flexible, as-needed basis. Responsibilities
* Court Appearances: Represent clients in various court hearings, including motion arguments, preliminary conferences, status conferences, and oral arguments.
* Individual Hearings: Independently handle and defend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other pre-trial proceedings.
* Litigation & Motion Practice: Draft, review, and argue motions, pleadings, discovery demands, and other litigation documents.
* Legal Research & Writing: Conduct targeted legal research and prepare well-reasoned memoranda and briefs to support case strategy for hearings and trials.
* Case Management: Quickly analyze case files to effectively prepare for and manage assigned appearances with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
* Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LLM degree from an accredited law school.
* Must be admitted to the New York State Bar and in good standing. Admission to federal courts (SDNY, EDNY) is a plus.
* Proven, hands-on experience in personal injury and/or employment-based litigation.
* Demonstrable experience handling court appearances and depositions independently is required.
* Exceptional oral advocacy, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong ability to think critically and act decisively in a courtroom setting.

*Pay rate* : Industry standards, open for negotiation
