Newton-Wellesley Hospital, a member of the Mass General Brigham healthcare system, is seeking a Per Diem Intensivist to join our dedicated and collaborative Critical Care team, providing exceptional care to patients in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the Greater Boston area.

Schedule: As needed, with flexible day and night shifts providing coverage for the Intensive Care Unit based on departmental needs and physician availability
This per diem role is ideal for a board-certified or board-eligible physician in Critical Care Medicine who values flexibility, teamwork, and excellence in patient care. Responsibilities may include:
During your shift, for all critically ill patients admitted to the ICU, write an attending-level admission note and review the care of the patient with the appropriate house staff team.
During your shift, for all critically ill patients in the ICU, make rounds with the appropriate house staff team every evening, or every afternoon of weekends and holidays
Anywhere in NWH, respond to any request (call or call by pager) for an ICU evaluation
Except for the Emergency Room, Operating Room, and Recovery Room, respond to and run all adult Code Blues throughout NWH
Assist with procedures when requested to do so by an attending physician or house officer
Participate in the provision of quality, evidence-based care
Full compliance with all NWH and MGB policies
Demonstrate professional behavior and engage in an effective, collaborative and collegial manner with other NWH employees, as part of a multidisciplinary team of caregivers
MD or DO degree
Board-certified or board-eligible in Critical Care Medicine (via Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, or Surgery pathway)
Eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts
Demonstrated clinical expertise in critical care management
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered, and team-oriented care
