A. Job Summary
The Performance Engineer supports the operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of multiple off-grid hybrid microgrids in UAE. These plants integrate diesel generators, solar PV systems, and energy storage solutions to deliver reliable power in remote areas.
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Performance Engineer is responsible with daily plant monitoring, troubleshooting, reporting, and maintenance coordination. The role focuses on technical execution, data analysis, and continuous improvement, contributing to the achievement of performance targets while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Objectives:
- Support performance optimization activities to achieve plant KPIs (reliability, fuel efficiency, solar generation).
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, including root cause investigations.
- Maintain accurate operational data, reports, and documentation.
- Follow all HSE guidelines and contribute to safe, efficient plant operations.
B. Accountabilities
- Support in achieving operational KPIs such as availability, efficiency, solar production, and fuel consumption.
- Ensure safe work practices and compliance with HSE procedures at all times.
- Implementing corrective actions and reporting outcomes to the Senior Engineer or Operations Manager.
- Keep accurate and updated records of plant data, maintenance logs, and performance reports.
- Preparing performance summaries and technical reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and contribute observations and data to SCAT reports.
- Maintain good communication with team members, contractors, and supervisors.
- Support plant compliance with contractual performance and operational standards.
C. Job Responsibilities
(a) Plant Operations & Performance
- Monitor daily plant operations, including solar generation, diesel consumption, and system reliability.
- Diagnosing and resolving operational or performance anomalies.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance support under guidance from senior engineers.
- Update and verify plant documentation such as SLDs, load schedules, and monitoring configurations.
- Support commissioning and upgrades of plant components as directed.
- Ensure diesel generators are operated and maintained within prescribed load and efficiency limits.
- Installation and commissioning of remote monitoring systems, ensuring their configuration is done properly to match the as built conditions
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site organization.
(b) Reporting & Communication
- Collect and compile daily and monthly performance data for analysis and reporting.
- Prepare O&M logs, technical summaries, and field reports for review by the Senior Engineer.
- Report any incidents, faults, or deviations immediately to supervisors.
- Support in preparing internal and client reports or dashboards as required.
- Maintain clear and regular communication with the Senior Engineer and Operations Manager.
(c) Client Interaction & Invoicing
- Support in client meetings and site visits by providing technical data and progress updates.
- Gathering data for monthly invoicing, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with the Finance and Operations teams to provide supporting documentation when needed.
- Represent the company professionally during site visits and client interactions.
(d) Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Adhere strictly to company and local HSE policies.
- Participate in HSE briefings, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
- Support the preparation of Method Statements and Risk Assessments (MSRAs).
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately and contribute to investigations.
- Promote a safety-first culture on all sites.
(e) Quality Assurance & Warranty Management
- Follow all technical and quality standards during maintenance and testing activities.
- Record and report any equipment warranty issues or failures to the Senior Engineer.
- Ensure maintenance and cleaning are performed per manufacturer recommendations.
- Support periodic calibration checks and documentation updates.
(f) Teamwork & Professional Development
- Work closely with Senior Performance Engineers and other team members to learn and grow technical competence.
- Participate in training programs and actively seek opportunities for professional development.
- Contribute to a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience (Recommended)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- Experience in the energy sector is a plus
- Experience in data analysis, model creation, and performance monitoring
- Proficiency in implementing optimization strategies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills

Reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
