Egypt Education Platform is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Performing Arts Teacher to join our team at GEMS TBS (The British School El-Rehab). This role is critical in inspiring students to explore their creativity through drama, dance, and music while providing a comprehensive performing arts program that encourages self-expression and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 1. Planning and Teaching - Create and execute an innovative, inclusive, and age-appropriate performing arts curriculum - Design lesson plans that meet the school's objectives, emphasizing the development of students' skills in drama, music, dance, and movement. - Employ a range of teaching methods to engage students of varying abilities and promote their participation in the performing arts.
  • 2. Performance Preparation and Coordination - Collaborate with Music Teachers to prepare students for school performances, assemblies, and other events throughout the academic year. - Partner with Music Teachers to coordinate school productions and showcase events, working with staff and including students in every aspect of the production process.
  • 3. Assessment and Evaluation - Develop and conduct workshops, training sessions, and individualized coaching to enhance teachers' skills in adopting innovative practices. - Offer ongoing guidance and mentorship to teachers on the effective and confident use of technology. - Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) aimed at fostering innovative teaching practices, data-informed instruction, and technology integration.
  • 4. Student Development and Well-being - Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where students feel at ease to express themselves.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Theater Education, Dance, Music, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification or certification is preferred, along with prior experience in a teaching capacity, especially in performing arts.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of performing arts disciplines, including theaters, dance styles, and musical concepts.
  • Creative, energetic, and passionate about teaching the performing arts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to creating a positive learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression.
