Perinatal Mental Health Prescriber

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for perinatal patients, including screening for depression, anxiety, trauma, and other related conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing psychotherapy, medication management, and other evidence-based interventions tailored to perinatal needs.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications following clinical guidelines and ensure thorough patient education on medication use, side effects, and safety considerations during pregnancy and postpartum.
  • Collaborate closely with therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic care for patients.
  • Provide telehealth consultations to increase access to mental health services for perinatal individuals in diverse settings.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Valid and unrestricted licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Psychiatrist with certification in psychiatric prescribing in the state of Colorado.
  • Demonstrated experience working with pregnant and postpartum populations, including familiarity with ART.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health conditions prevalent during the perinatal period such as depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and mood disorders.
  • Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management.
  • Experience prescribing medications including antidepressants, anxiolytics, or other psychotropics with an understanding of teratogenic risks and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about treatment options and foster collaborative relationships with healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving within a multidisciplinary team environment dedicated to holistic patient care.

Pay: $70.00 - $125.00 per hour
