The Permits & Licensing Analyst – U.S. Compliant is responsible for overseeing, tracking, and maintaining regulatory compliance for business permits, licenses, and operational approvals across U.S. jurisdictions. This role supports internal teams and clients by ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting retail and multi-location business operations.
The ideal candidate brings experience in U.S. permitting and licensing, regulatory compliance, or operational risk management, with strong skills in documentation, cross-functional coordination, and regulatory research.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to U.S. federal, state, and local permit and licensing requirements for retail and commercial operations.
Identify, obtain, monitor, and renew business licenses, operational permits, and regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions.
Maintain accurate, current records of permits, licenses, approvals, and regulatory communications in line with internal policies and client requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams such as operations, legal, finance, and store management to ensure licensing requirements are fulfilled before store openings, renewals, expansions, or operational changes.
Detect compliance risks, gaps, or lapses related to permits and licenses, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
Track regulatory updates, zoning changes, and licensing laws across U.S. jurisdictions and ensure timely implementation and communication.
Act as the primary liaison with government agencies, municipalities, and third-party vendors on permit and licensing matters.
Prepare permit status reports, compliance summaries, and audit-ready documentation for management and clients.
Assist clients in understanding and meeting licensing and regulatory obligations across various states and local jurisdictions.
Uphold high standards of data accuracy, confidentiality, and governance within compliance systems and databases.
Provide guidance and training to internal teams on permitting processes, requirements, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Public Administration, Compliance, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Experience in U.S. permitting and licensing, regulatory compliance, or operational risk management, ideally within retail or multi-location environments.
Strong understanding of U.S. federal, state, and local regulatory frameworks governing business licenses and permits.
Experience working with government agencies and external service providers.
Proficiency in compliance management systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain regulatory requirements to non-technical audiences.
