Senior Accountant - Personal Accounting for Family office
Position Summary
The Senior Accounts Professional will be responsible for overseeing the daily and monthly financial operations, ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations (Income Tax, GST, Companies Act), and providing accurate and timely financial reporting to management. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, in-depth knowledge of Indian taxation, and the ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Management
* General Ledger & Entries: Review and finalize Tally entries, journal vouchers (JV), sales, and purchase entries to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger.
* Reconciliation: Perform and review monthly bank reconciliations, inter-company balances, and other subsidiary ledger reconciliations (e.g., Accounts Payable/Receivable).
* Month-End/Year-End Close: Manage and support the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
* Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of Trial Balances (TB), Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, and Balance Sheets (BS).
2. Taxation & Compliance
* Goods & Services Tax (GST):
* Oversee the preparation and filing of various GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.).
* Handle GST-related queries, reconciliation of 2A/2B/2C, and compliance procedures.
* Direct Taxation (TDS/ITR):
* Manage and file all Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) returns (e.g., Form 24Q, 26Q) and related compliance.
* Assist in the preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the company and related individuals/entities.
* Ensure compliance with tax-related documentation and procedures, including matching with Form 26AS.
* ROC Compliance: Take care of all legal and procedural compliance related to the Registrar of Companies (ROC) and other corporate regulatory requirements.
3. Audits & Supervision
* Audits: Handle internal and external audit queries, prepare necessary documentation, and ensure a smooth audit process.
* Supervision:
* Check and manage the work of Junior Accounts staff and guide them on Tally entries, documentation, and compliance.
* Provide necessary training and support to maintain accuracy and timeliness in all accounting tasks.
4. Miscellaneous & Ad-hoc
* Prepare Bank Position reports and other financial information for senior management and family/group entities.
* Handle other miscellaneous work and Ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the management team.
* Maintain and take care of confidential financial and investment-related documents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field (Master’s/CPA/CA Inter/ICWA Inter preferred).
* Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in a similar accounting role.
* Technical Expertise:
* Profound knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial statement preparation.
* Expert proficiency in accounting software, especially Tally ERP/Prime, and advanced MS Excel skills.
* In-depth, practical knowledge of GST, TDS, ITR, and ROC compliance.
* Soft Skills:
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to coordinate with various stakeholders.
* Proven ability to manage and supervise junior team members and manage multiple deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
