Personal Assistant Caregiver

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Duties

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patient health by checking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature regularly
  • Support medication management by administering prescribed medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
  • Maintain a safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces
  • Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to assist with heavy lifting or transfers safely
  • Observe and document changes in health status or behavior, communicating promptly with healthcare professionals or family members
  • Support patients with memory care needs related to dementia or Alzheimer's disease through structured routines and engagement activities
  • Follow established care plans meticulously while adhering to all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home environments, or group homes with a focus on senior or disability care
  • Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
  • Familiarity with specialized care such as dementia, Alzheimer's, autism spectrum disorders, or hospice care is highly desirable
  • Valid certifications in CPR and first aid; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance are a plus
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Demonstrated compassion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities or complex medical needs
  • Experience working within care plans and adhering to strict confidentiality standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as needed for client support
